Frustrated by the insurance adjuster
The Rear-End Collision Injured Joe
The Insurance Adjuster Frustrated Him
Joe sat at a red light waiting to make a left turn. "Bud" never noticed the red light or Joe's truck. Bud slammed into the back of the truck. Joe felt immediate pain in his back and neck. Joe called 9-1-1 requesting the police and an ambulance. While the officer investigated the crash, the paramedics evaluated Joe and determined he needed immediate medical attention. Days after returning from the emergency room, Joe never heard from Bud or his insurance company. Joe's car sat in a wrecker yard. His insurance company stated the car was a total loss, but why should they have to use his own insurance when Bud caused the crash? Finally, Joe heard from Bud's insurance company. The adjuster began asking Joe to sign documents and to provide information. Joe gave a short version of the rear-end crash and then attempted to ask questions, only to be cut off. That adjuster would not answer simply questions about paying the medical bills, missed work, or offer a rental car. Joe needed help.
The "Joe's" of the world are not alone. Victims are often frustrated by insurance companies. These insurance companies use multiple adjusters, the file always seems to be transferred to someone else, and when reaching out to the adjuster, victims often only speak to their voice mail. Not exactly the treatment or showing of concern one would expect.
Many of our clients here in Acadiana, like Joe, have come to the law offices of Richard R. Kennedy after unsuccessful attempts to deal with the insurance company. Our job is to ensure each client is treated fairly and with respect. While the facts of each case are different, our goal is the same: excellent representation. By keeping an open line of communication with our clients, we are able to learn about their injuries, how those injuries have affected their lives, and how medical treatment is restoring their health. While our clients are focused on restoring their health, we deal with the insurance companies and work on gathering information to properly evaluate each case. Our clients stay informed of developments in their case and are made aware of what courts have done in similar situations. Through teamwork, we end frustration and show the insurance companies that our clients are real people who have been injured and have worked hard to recover.
